This is for Abbyquilts who has her house for sale, my house has been on the market (in Michigan) for over a year and I told the realtor that the sewing room would not be on the neat and tidy list. She agreed that would not be a problem and maybe even show a crafter how nice a room it is. So unless you want to go nuts, go sew instead. In today's market it could be a while before moving.

Just a suggestion - can you go "sit and sew" at your LQS? Maybe you could even store your machine there to protect it from construction dust.

Having the house up for sale
    ---------------------------------
Ask the realtor if having a partially finished, brilliant
colored quilt spilling from the sewing machine would be
a good selling point. Sure would work with me, going into
some place with such a lovely piece of fabric there.

Been there done that for the last 4 years. I've decided my next house will be one very large room, and I won't care what a mess it is, as long as I can quilt, watch tv, and get my email. Life is to short to mess with all the mess. Hang in there, it will get better.

    My condolences and congrats, too.

I liked the idea of hand piecing.

Another idea: Your dh could get you a laptop computer and the EQ program. You would be able to learn the program while you wait.

I feel your pain! We had to rebuild the back part of our house when Hurricane Gustav knocked the neighbor's tree on the roof. DH packed EVERYTHING, including my sewing room, for storage in the shed, barn, and attic. Luckily, I had double-bagged my machines before the storm hit and they were in the house, and had straightened up a lot of fabric in new bins, but no thread, scissors, etc. for almost 8 months. My sewing room is in the rebuilt apartment at the end of the game room and everything is all new and bright, but wish we had just take out that one wall instead of rebuilding it!
