Mike of course is my dh. We were high school sweethearts who married other people . After 33 years we finally found each other again and got married in 2011.
We were both the others first love, and I will now forever be Mikes girl.
The photo is a picture of my property in Texas. I live in Florida now, but pray we can go home one day.

I have sewn for many years and when my 1st granddaughter was three she called me nama. She would stand beside me as I was sewing, singing a little song she had made up. Sew nama, sew fast nama, sew nama sew. She's 27 now and all of the grandchildren (all 10) still call me nama, it has stuck with me like glue and makes me feel happy to be a grammie.

My real name was already taken, so I was brainstorming, trying to think of something else that would work. At the time, my youngest son was watching a lot of Wallace and Gromit, a British clay-mation movie. Wallace is the human and Gromit is his non-speaking but very smart dog. Wallace talks a lot about feeling "peckish", which is Brit speak for hungry. It made me chuckle because, being the opposite of svelte, I'm very rarely peckish. I went for tongue-in-cheek irony.

My Mom would refer to someone as being "peckish" when they were out of sorts - or not feeling well.

Is she British? IceBlossom said she thought it was similar to "hangry". I'll be the first to admit I may be incorrect. My knowledge of the term came from Wallace & Gromit, and when I looked it up, the definition was "hungry". But slang has a way of morphing definitions.

On the other hand, when my husband is "out of sorts", my first line of action is usually to make him a sammich. Those husbands can get cranky if they don't eat.

When I am working on a quilt project, my dog has to be right beside me or on my lap. When I'm dogsitting my granddogs, they are there too! I came up with "quiltswithdogs" because of that and the movie title "Dances With Wolves".
