WONDERFUL news! Thanks to her -- and you -- for her service! My DSIL is in the Army and has done two tours in Iraq. God bless all our children who protect our freedoms!

Yes there is gloom and doom in our world today but we can make a difference. My greatest concern is for the children...I want them to have someone to hug them and feed them. These little ones are our future.
Finding ways of helping others is my daily goal...putting others before yourself. Just being able to have another day on this earth makes me happy.

Church, time with granddaughters, and finished the day up with a big family bbq. Wonderful ending to the week or should I say great beginning to this week!

My daughter posting my recipe on her blog - I'm so glad she remembers good things from her childhood. My list is so long and full of blessings, I couldn't post them all. God is good!

I just got an email that a friend of mine who had surgery is in rehab and doing well. She is 95!!! and had hip surgery last week. She is a very beloved member of my quilt group, lives by herself, drives herself to quilting, church, and the grocery store, and just inspires all of us with her lovely spirit and optimism! I am going to visit her later today--can't wait to see her sweet smiling face.

I was driving up my street on Saturady and noticed a garage sale. The lady in front was starting to pack up but I noticed she had a table of material. I parked in the driveway and walked back to her house. As I was looking thru the material we started talking and I mentioned that she did alot of crafts, when she told me that she couldn't do them any more due to three brain injuries. I picked out 6 1/2 yds of material for $20.00 and a couple of reindeer patterns for stuffed animals and she mentioned that she would be willing to bargain for anything I wanted. I told her absolutely not, she put a fair price on items and I was going to pay her the full price. She got tears in her eyes. I hope I made her day a little happier, since she was giving up things she obviously loved.
