the city of Amsterdam, NY was known for carpet, textile, and pearl button manufacturing. It was also the home of Coleco, makers of the ColecoVision, Cabbage Patch Kids and the Coleco Adam.

Brooklyn is known for lots of things. But currently, it's most known for a certain politician who's under fire for inappropriately tweeting with young women and then lying about it even after he was caught. Part of his district is in Brooklyn.

On a positive note, we are home to Nathan's, who hosts the annual Fourth of July hot dog eating contest on Coney Island. I would never go when it's that crowded, but if you ever get the chance, Nathan's really does make fabulous hot dogs.

O, my goodness! I just typed this and did not realize the complete irony of writing these two things on the same post until I read it over, looking for typos. Seriously.

Annapolis is known for the Naval Academy! All sorts of boaters live here and it's got a thriving marine heritage. I'm not personally into that sort of thing, but it's awesome to see Middies walking around everywhere!

Lousy weather in winter, but great hot dogs :-) We have white hots here!
Are they the ones we refer to as 'coney's'? Spicier than a regular hotdog but very tasty. We buy large pkgs in Syracuse every time we visit.
