I am a sometimes quilter, daily knitter.

My favorite thing to make from quilting is charity quilts for kids. I use the method of encapsulating the batting with the top and bottom strips and them flipping them closed to add the next section. The quilt is done when you're done sewing the sections together except for the binding. Sometimes I don't even bind the little quilts, just zig-zagging the edges, so they can be used as picnic blankets or car trunk liners.

My two sewing machines are both on the fritz right now. They need some adjusting and maybe replacement parts. Hope I can find a good sewing machine repairer. I'm itching to get back to quilting!

Welcome from Oregon! I used to be in CA. The Bay Area forever. I would start with my local sewing or quilting store for your machine repair. Ask around and see who has good reputation for your brand of machine. Hope you get it fixed soon. Happy quilting!

    Hello Wine Woman,

Thanks for the suggestion! I know there is a good quality sewing machine shop in Dublin, CA that used to repair machines. I will start there.

I would love to live in Oregon or Washington. I have this fanasy life of being a hobby farm owner and living off of the land. Maybe one of these days it will happen.

    Happy New Year!

Welcome to the Board from Southern California!
I take it you are from the East Bay area, or thereabouts.

Welcome from Southern California. I use to live in Livermore. The Dublin Sewing machine shop was the one that always did my tune-ups, they use to have a coupon for tune ups.

    Welcome - Welcome - Welcome !!!

I am very excited to see you here but must warn you that when I look at your picture it looks like your brain is rotting

Maybe some quilt pictures will refocus my eyes.

We're planning to be in CA this coming summer (don't tell anyone else, though, it's still a secret). Can you believe it? Summer!!! 8-) 8-) 8-)

Hello, and welcome from Missouri! Hope you find a reliable, dependable, affordable technician for your machines! Sounds like an impossible task when I put it THAT way!

They were also the only shop that had the bobbins that would fit my Euro Pro machine that I bought online from Target.com.

I think I will try them.

Ha Ha at times my brain does seem to do a meltdown, (can't remember things), so the avatar is appropriate.

Maybe I will look for an avatar that is quilting or knitting related.

I will be very happy to see you and Bob this Summer!
