Hi, this afternoon I was surfing on the net, looking for a quiltforum abroad, and yes, I found this one!!! I'm 48 years, married, 6 kids (2 are actually mine) a dog named Sporty (jack russel terrier). I work at the administration at a high school, but at the end of this year I'm out of a job!! And with the recession going on here it is difficult to find another job. I quilt since 4 years, mostly on the machine!! I also make quilts for a foundation for verry sick children, I cannot keep all the quilts I make, haha.

Hello from Illinois. That's the near middle of the USA just East of the Mississippi River.
This board is a great place to hang out. There is so much quilting knowledge here it is amazing. Everyone is friendly and no question is ever considered dumb.

Hi, I'm new here. I live in North Carolina. I have not been able to work since 1998. I have sewed off and on all my life. I have a embroidery machine and love to make quilts.I am learning on everyone I make. I have made several baby quilts for family members. Most I have learned is been self taught. I have made a lot of mistakes. I am looking forward to learning as much as I can about quilting. Dolores

A big welcome from Washington State. So happy to have you join us. This site does become addicting, but there are so many helpful and talented members, it's hard not to check and see what's going on every day. Would love to see pictures of some of your work.

A big welcome from Florida. We're happy to have you join us. Now you will have more time for your quilting ... even though losing your job is not a good thing. Some of us...myself included.. have had that happen. So....let's quilt and forget our problems. :)
