    Default BackSide Fabrics!! Wow!

Last week I decided to take Backside Fabrics at their word. I made a list of 8 wideback fabrics and requested samples. (Their website states up to 10 samples at NO COST to American and Canadian addresses. International costs $1) Well, I got those samples today and was totally amazed! Each piece was at least 2"x3". I had requested one batik and I got 4 samples of the different colours in the fabric. The fabric quality is excellent and the prices are very, very reasonable!

It was so nice, to lay those samples against the quilt top and make an informed decision! No guessing about shades! Needless to say, I have placed my order. Yes, I did have to add an extra piece (that fabulous batik) to get the free shipping to DH's hotel in NC. Oh my fabric mule is going to hate me for this one!

So far, I am very impressed. I think this may become my go-to for backing fabrics.

What great info. I'm a very 'touchy/feely' kind of person so this is great info! Will bookmark when I get to main computer. Thank you.

I am so glad that you liked Backside Fabrics. Christine is a friend and a former member of one of the guilds I belong to - Piecemakers Quilt Guild in Lincolnton, NC. She started out as a long arm quilter and did my husbamd's and father-in-law's quilts about 10 years ago. She no longer quilts since her business really took off. And best of all she is a really nice person. Even though she no longer quilts for others she may be doing our guild 2015 raffle quilt - it's a hand appliquéd Baltimore Christmas quilt and really needs an experienced quilter (I'll post a picture of my block when I get it completed).

Anyway, I highly recommend Backside - you will always be happy. And remember, wide fabrics are a terrific purchase just for making blocks - actually can save you money over the price per yard of regular width fabrics.

    Thanks for listening,
    Sandy in Mooresville, NC

I just checked out the site. I love it. Looks like I will be doing a large purchase after I get moved next month. It would be none productive to order it now and have to move it next month 750 miles :0) . Thank you for the link.

Thanks for the info. It's good to know that they send samples. I've had several disappointed purchases on fabric that didn't look at all like what the computer showed. Fabric is too expensive to order blindly anymore hoping that it will match or complement the other fabrics in a project.

they are wonderful aren't they! I have gotten fabric from them myself and love them all. They are about the only ones I do order backs from now.
