Default Bought two new quilting rulers at Lowes

I was looking around in DH's workshop and saw a long metal ruler. He said it isn't a ruler it's a straight edge. I thought this is just what I need to mark some cross hatching on a quilt top and to use to square up the quilt. It was 4 ft long. I went to Lowes to buy a new one (his was dirty and he didn't want to have to look for it when he needed it). I came home with a 4 ft and a 6 ft for less then $20. They are metal but not too rigid or heavy. 2 1/2" wide.

Great idea. I love looking through Lowes, Menards, etc. to see what I can use for quilting, crafting, etc. I'll keep this idea in mind. Thanks for sharing.

I think they are for measuring and cutting drywall but they work great in the sewing room!

I've been using one of these plus the 90 degree ruler that matches. They are much cheaper than quilt rulers.

Shhhh don't say that too loud or they will put them in a different aisle-change the name and triple the price.

I took my DH T-square and it works great for cutting my batting off the roll. No more crooked lines for me
