I watched it too. I think I will try it, just one block, it I like it I may make more. It would make a cute modern type lap quilt.

I see by the sample behind him that some of the rays are off a bit. If he can't get them to match perfectly, there is no hope for me.

I noticed that too but made me think that these "experts" are just like us, sometimes not so perfect. Helps remind me that we are too hard on ourselves & to learn to "go with the flow" & to lighten up !!!

I love it when points are cut and pieces are off. It brings me back to quilting for fun, not for a quilt show. I haven't seen it yet but I'll look it up.

It was a very modern quilt. Not to hard to do, if you knew someone who really loved modern instead of the vintage look.

Looks to me like it would be easier to draw and paper piece that block. They should all MATCH at the seams that way.

VAT, YOU ARE SOOOO RIGHT! Paper pieced is so much faster, and a lot more accurate....he is loosing accurate measuring in cutting the pieces, sewing them one at a time, pressing, lining up etc. etc....when a paper pieced block would do away with most of the work and it would be precise. Beautiful design.....would do with template run through my printer and then PP. I sent him a note...perhaps he will read the suggestion.

I was thinking paper piece too when I watched it--he already had it all drawn out which could have been used.

I agree 100%, paper piece is the way to go. I do like the quilt.
