    Default Superior Thread

I just watched the video on www.thequiltshow.com of Alex Anderson at the Superior Thread co. in Utah. The were making the prewound bobbins that are sold in their donuts. It was fun if you want to go over and watch it.

What a great video. Learned a lot about how they do the pre-wounds. Best of all, they ARE MADE IN AMERICA!

Superior thread is one of my favorites. Whenever the quilt budget allows I order and stash them away.

I have several of the donuts, perfect for handsewing bindings. I keep a supply of the neutral pre wound bobbins of Masterpiece. Superior has a daily deal and I wait for my favorite thread and needles to be the deal and stock up. You can get as many as you want and shipping is always under $4. The Soft and Stable is a must have for my stash too.

The thread is great and they are very nice people. When you go to the headquarters to buy thread, you are actually walking through the warehouse where they are packing orders. The people are very nice and helpful.

Bos Purcell is a very nice man. I went there recently for a sale they were having and actually got there late (forgot the time written in the flyer- [I arrived like 20 minutes after closing] plus Utah is on Mountain Time, which is an hour later than Las Vegas on Pacific Time). However, Bob saw me at the door and let me shop for thread and needles at the sale prices (which were I think 35% off). I hustled through and found what I needed. He was very gracious.

    Thanks, Bob Purcell!

I love Superior Threads! I always learn something on their web site, and recently, they were offering their DVD on Threadology for free, even if you don't buy anything -- but you do have to pay a small postage for it. I get their big cones of white, cream and light grey, and use it for all of my piecework. Those cones last forever, even though I use them all of the time, so I consider that good value. I also like their "try me" collections; always a good bargain. I almost never have to clean lint out of my bobbin case when I use this thread.
