I have most of the books shown on this tute and enjoy them. But this presentation of the ideas and techniques is top notch. The colors issue was a breakthrough concept for me and will be my first sewing play when I get home. (Traveling. Didn't take fabrics for this sort of thing when I packed my rv sewing crate.)

Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. To date I have been experimenting with "made" or "manufactured" fabric. Maybe interesting to combine the ideas. Again, thanks.

This was for me !! I am absolutely sure of it ! In quilting I do not like to rack my brain following directions, match up seams and points, and especially cutting up numerous amounts of measured fabrics etc. I like to free flow and relax while sewing. Thanks so much for posting. I often wondered if I was alone in my quilt thoughts?

I lived free-of-order yesterday; all day! And it was invigorating. I had a detailed block and process all mapped out, which was very well planned and ready to go. Then I acquired a treadle and wanted to try with this new toy, so I thru caution to the wind (heavily influenced by this link you shared). It is not important to me to have everything exact. I will square up the blocks after and if the insides are a bit off kilter, so be it. It will give it charm and look like it was intended to be that way. I got so much done in between all the house stuff yesterday -- twenty four blocks. Grabbed a b&w square, log cabined around it with colorful strips, and then put a wider strip of another b&w. The only thing measured and cut to start with is the center square; the rest sew, trim, sew, etc., And you know what? I really think this is going to be one of my favorite end projects. I know I am going to proud of it. So much time and stress removed. Thanks for shareing the link.
