Default ? about inserting cheater panel in EQ7 Medallion Quilt

I am attempting to design a quilt on EQ7 with a cheater panel as the center medallion and am going to add borders around it. I have imported a photo of the panel from the website where the fabric panel is. The problem is when I add the photo to the quilt, it is cutting part of it off. Should I resize the photo?

This is tricky. I have never got it successfully done on EQ7. I may be missing something. Usually I just draw the size of the panel as a block and then work around it inserting blocks into the borders Here is an example of a quilt I recently made out of pillow panels. The white blank squares are where I sewed the panels in. It helped with the fabric strip layout.

Here is the finished top. Sent it off to a friend (LAQ) to quilt it for her niece.

mamaw322, did you try asking your question on the electric quilt site? I only have EQ5 and haven't tried to anything like that with it. Hope someone can help you!

maniacquilter that is a neat idea of how to plan your quilt, look forward to seeing it again when you get it back from the quilters.
