Why is it so easy to find baseball fabric and soooooo hard to find softball fabric? I have a daughter who plays softball and I'd loooooove to make her a quilt but I've only ever found two softball fabrics and one had a black background - which I really don't want.

    Thanks!

You're right about softball fabric being hard to find. We carry two, but they both do have black backgrounds.

me too. I like the deep reds and greens
Then you can always count on Hoffman! Every year they have the traditional colors, and then they try an unusual colorway too.

You may also like Robert Kaufman's "Holiday Flourish 4". http://www.robertkaufman.com/fabrics...ng_collections We did order quite a few of these for our shop. Last year, "Holiday Flourish 3" was our best-selling holiday group.
"Holiday Flourish 4" --- all I can say is WOW!

Gee, idunno... do you require much in the way of care and feeding?

How do you feel about hauling suitcases?

Maybe they could use a good porter...

    :D
After having done one road trip with a friend who is a fabric rep - nope no way! That is one hard job - shops cancel appointments at the very last minute, the owner or contact person is not available at the appointed time, another appointment is added to the mix at the very last minute requiring driving practically 3 hrs out of the way (one way); living in hotels; eating out all the time - sometimes in questionable places; not to mention the wear and tear on your body and your automobile and then add to that the gas prices!!!! Oh, and if the shop does not pay their bill, the rep does not get paid. Love playing with the fabrics tho!

Fabric prices continue to rise due to increases in cotton prices, transportation costs, and manufacturing costs. At the wholesale level, most fabrics being ordered now for fall delivery are up at least 50 cents/yd. Fabric prices at the wholesale level are up about $1.50/yd in the last year.

And it isn't going to stop any time in the foreseeable future.

Sorry, that's just the way it is...

I want to make schlep bags for my grandchildren, using fabric with the sports that they particiapate in. I have been able to find everything but cross country or running. I did find a fabric with marathon runners, but it was no longer available.

Do you mean realistic dogs and cats as in not "cutesy" (like the Potpourri one from Elizabeth's Studio)? http://www.favoritefabric.com/cgi/co...ords=petpourri

For the toddler prints, are you looking for animals? Geometrics? Florals? Or something else?
