Well I finally got all those little squares together!
I used four different sewing machines in the beginning but settled on the sphinx reproduction.
It wasn't as bad as I thought.
Each block has 289 squares in it.
There are 30 blocks.
I am now sewing the QAYG blocks together and it's turning out okay I guess.
I was expecting a whole lot of variance because with that many seams even a tiny variance can add up but it's working okay.
Not perfect but it still looks good and my daughter is happy with it which is the main thing.
I ran out of black thread though.
Can't do much more at this point until I grab another cone from the fabric store.
Probably gonna have 5,000 yards of thread in it.
The blocks were a little wonky looking but it's "quilting out".
I'll post pix in the pix forum when I'm done.
I have enough little squares left to make a couple of pillow shams but will need to buy a bit more black fabric.
Right now I just want to finish the quilt.
In the end, I wound up just sewing the squares normal.
Too time consuming to do adding machine tape and all of it.
Thanks to everyone for your advice and support.
