Default Batting for Hand Quilted Wall Hanging

I need help, please! I am almost finished hand piecing a 40" square wall hanging. I will also hand quilt it. This is my 4th quilt, all crib size or thereabouts. I need recommendations for a batting that will hang straight and flat, and suitable for hand quilting.

    Thanks!

I've not made an wall hangings but I do hand quilt. I normally use warm & natural. Many folks don't like to hand quilt with that because it has a scrim and most quilters find it more difficult to needle. But perhaps having the scrim will also help it be straight and flat for your wall hanging.

I'm sure others will chime in with other suggestions.

I use Warm and Natural of Warm and White batting when I hand quilt. I like the flat look for wall hangings better than the puffy look of polyester battings.

When I hand quilt, which tends to be 90% of my quilts, I use a cotton batt, usually 100% cotton. I also like using Hobbs 80/20, which is 80% cotton & 20% polyester.

Hobbs 80/20 is my choice but have used Warm and Natural successfully.

Quilter's Dream is my favorite - especially "Orient". So smooth and easily accepts the needle.
