I like Connecting Threads, too, for wide backing, and Joann's has some too, at least in muslin.

I purchase 98%of my wide backings from fabric.com. They have a terrific selection of wide fabrics from 108" up to 129" wide. Many colors/ prints. I've been shopping with them for almost 20 years and have never been disappointed. I haven't pieced a back in years. The 2% I purchase elsewhere is usually from my local quilt shop, they carry about half a dozen- sometimes one of theirs is what I want/ need.

I really like Missouri Star Quilt Co. They have 2 or 3 different widths of backing fabric. I've bought some backing fabric to use in making blocks because it is very cost effective. 108" wide is equal to about 2 1/2 yard of regular width. It usually costs about $14.95 a yard, is very good quality and they have a nice selection. If you fold and cut carefully, you get nice long strips for binding without so much piecing.

I bought a wide back from CT that was so thin. I sent it back. They refunded me but cost me time to package and take to the post office so I won't buy wide back from them again. Have had good luck with their regular fabric.

I like to buy extra wide backing fabric from Hancocks of Paduca, particularly when it is on sale. Currently one line is being sold for $9.99/yd for 108"

I just bought 3 1/2yds of 108" wide cotton backing from JoAnns, with a coupon less than $20. I've made 2 crib sheets plus wide sashing and binding for the quilt to go with the crib sheets and still have over a yard left. I'd say I got my moneys worth.

I buy wherever they have it, I always feel to make sure it is to my liking.

Hancocks of Paducah has top notch cotton fabrics period. The backing fabrics are wonderful.

Check out Marshall Dry Goods. I've purchased several backings from them and have not been disappointed. The price is right, too.

I'm with Jingle. I wait for sales at Hancocks of Paducah. Their fabrics are great. I buy their wide backings and they are great.
