    You succeeded in doing one of the best things in life. It is not about the quilt. You did a good job in raising your son reflecting on what he did!

    What a great memory, so mature in his thinking. I wouldn't let him take the quilt to boot camp, they take most of the belongings and only give you govt issue. please wait until after graduation. Maybe make him a tiny square to keep with him.

    I am a little bit in awe for what a wonderful and supportive community this is, and that so many have taken the time to send warm wishes and happy thoughts our way. It is much appreciated!

    Thanks for the advice. He was here to spend the afternoon with me before going to boot camp, and left the quilt at his house. He served nine years in the Navy already, and is now starting a new adventure in the Army.
