    Default Big flower applique patterns

    Hello all!

There is a thread on here where someone posted a picture of court blocks and flowers that were hand painted. http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...ml#post6069866

I am doing something similar (from scratch LOL because I can't follow a pattern to save my life) and the log cabin blocks are a snap, but I'm having problems finding "big flower applique" patterns. I recognize that the ones in the picture were hand painted, but I am NOT that talented, and would rather do applique.

If someone has some links to applique patterns for big flowers, could you please share them for me? I've done lots of google searches but am not having much luck.

    Thanks so very much,

    Marion

I can see why you would like to make your own.

I'm not a painter either. I would have to look for fabric that has large print flowers and fussy cut them out to sew on. Or you might get a coloring book or pictures of flowers and blow them up so you could trace them off .

If you know someone who'd let you use her embroidery machine, you could embroider the flowers rather than painting or appliquéing.

I googled Iris flower drawing and this came up:
    https://www.google.com/webhp?sourcei...ower%20drawing

    Roses: https://www.google.com/webhp?sourcei...ower%20drawing

Just google ..... flower drawing. You could also print out drawing onto fabric, and color with crayon, fabric paints, or color pencil.

Want to see it when done! Very pretty quilt.

Or, find a flower pattern that you like, and use your computer to increase to the size you want. Since it is going to be a pattern, you can make it any size you want

Coloring book pages are great for applique patterns. Do a search for flower coloring books there are some really nice ones.

I would just go searching thru Google looking for the flowers you want to applique.

This is a BOM that I am saving and planning on doing in the near future. The flowers are art-deco and beautiful! Try this link: http://blog.morningglorydesigns.net/p/2015.html
