    Default block identy?

this is just 4 patches and half square triangles, but I love how graphic it is.
On the other hand I quit buying fabric in 2001 so a 2 color quilt is not something I have available to make from my stash.
So if I had a name leading to quilts made with this block, maybe I can get some other ideas. I'm looking for a new leader ender. It makes me think of urns and baskets. Thanks, Sharyn

I think it's Broken Sugar Bowl or a variation.

The center blocks do look like broken sugar bowl. Bonnie Hunter has done a quilt in that pattern on her Quiltville site.

maybe. broken sugar bowl is a 3 patch with whole patches, and the one in my post is a 5 patch with no whole patches. Getting closer though thank you.

Very interesting block. The center appears to be the Broken Sugar Bowl except with a 4 patch on the solid square corners. And the way the background is placed in the 4 patch center gives the unique center of the block. After defining out the center, the placement of HST's and 4 patches around the block gave the block a whole new look.

I played around with a controlled scrappy. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but I like it.

Hi KalamaQuilts, You could turn this beautiful block into a modern retro quilt.... Do more two color Ozark Trail blocks, and separate them with a neutral muslin in checkerboard pattern layout. You will have plenty of white space for quilting and this elaborate block will be in multiple colors to go anywhere you want it to go. Cheers! Juana
