It doesn't work for certain Vikings, they are wound in a different direction and can only be loaded in one direction on the machine. The green bobbins are standard, they have a low spot in the center and that has to go in a certain direction.

I have one I used for bobbins on a Pfaff 2170. I now have a Juki 2010 and the bobbins are tight on the spindle, but they do wind. Is this normal? The only difference seems to be the bobbins for the Juki are flat. I have the smaller winder. Does the larger winder make a difference?
I used to wind whatever bobbins on a Pfaff machine to use on a serger. One bobbin will do quite a bit on the needles. Works well on the loopers too but you might need to refill more often. These bobbins were flat, some had holes in them, some didn't. Have no idea what machines they fit as I was only using them for thread. So flat shouldn't be an issue if a regular machine can wind them.

My 10 year old DGD is going to be taking a sewing class. The bobbin winder on the Brother machine she is going to use is broken but the machine sews beautifully. Do any of you have experience with those small bobbin winders and are they worth the money? To fix the bobbin winder on the machine would be at least $90. I think I bought the machine from Costco years ago. Thank you for your time.
