Any one have an idea why the bobbin won't wind. The balance wheel is disingaged and the bobbin slid over but the needle still sews and will not wind?

Maybe hold it over? I have sewn on my BF's mothers old machine and i had to hold it over to get it to wind...

Unless all Pfaff's have the same bobbin winding system, maybe you should state what model.
I have a singer that wind bobbins right in the bobbin case - don't even have to take the bobbin out, or pull the thread outa the needle to wind, so I'm just thinkin model names/numbers make a difference.
That way someone here with that model can help.

On my Pfaff, there is a small notch in the bobbin that has to match a little sticking out thingy on the winder. I know if I do not have them hooked together, it can look as if the bobbin is fitting right but it isn't and the bobbin won't wind.

Look close to see the notches! I generally put the bobbin on the winding spool and turn it until the two parts click into place. Definitely can hear it.
