There is a new pattern out called Buttons and Bows, published in one of the more current magazines. Can one of you scan a picture on it for me? I can't find it online and do not know what magazine it was in. Looks like a bow tie with white circles like yoyos sewed on with buttons. i want to make one for my son.

Thanks, Ruth, but that is not the one. This one is built similar, but the white parts are huge in comparison to this picture.

there are several quilt patterns named Buttons & Bows.

this link alone has two. let me know if either of them is what you want. if you don't have Electric Quilt, I do. The rules for the challenge state clearly that those who submit their projects are not allowed to submit anything that can't be shared. so i can share it with you if need be.

I haven't found the right pattern so I tried to come up with my own design. I make 6 1/2" squares of different colors, some are signature blocks. They are sewn together in a grid the size of the quilt. I cut free form circles of 2 each, sew them right sides together, turn and close the opening. I sew these to every other corner of the grid, and stagger the rows to make a diagonal row of these circles. I sew them down and sew a button in the middle. The squares on the background look like bow tie blocks when the circle covers up the corners. Patrice, if you can make this file smaller, please feel free.

I saw this quilt in a dream. My son got married on the 17th of March. That morning, I was cutting squares for the signatures, so I sould have them at the wedding reception. I wish my dreams would come in a more timely manner.
