Pewter must be a newer color-it's not on my chart. I guess it's time for a new chart. Here is the rich red next to a red color card (for reference).

THANK YOU!!!! They look perfect for scarlet and grey "Buckeye" colors!

I hope this doesn't become a thread about the fabric...I make my quilts to be loved, and I am fine with J's fabric for these lap quilts. They will be used by the grands to build forts, 6'5" sweaty men will use them to watch football games, and dogs and cats will sleep on them.....that makes me happy!

Jill: Just a FYI, my JoAnn's has a color chart with real (very small) swatches of Kona, they will let you look at it in store.

I'm having the same problem trying to decide what color Aurifil thread to purchase online for piecing. There are a number of grey colors and a number of beige/tan/etc. colors. Suggestions???

Jill: I couldn't believe they want $35 for the chart. I would love to have a chart, since most of my solids come from Kona, but not at that price. Lady: I've found that medium in any neutral color works pretty well. Problem is most prepackaged neutrals have dark to light. I've just decided to buy my colors in single spools even though they are more expensive.

I just ordered several colors from Missouri Star Quilt Co. Their price is a dollar less per yd. than JoAnn's.

Love your quilt, no idea about the Kona fabrics though.

I purchased a colour chart and regret it. Apparently the dye lots can have quite an effect. Even so much as the midnight blue is now a purple. Sigh. So much for colour matching.
