My daughter (30 yrs old) wants to make some of those microwave potato bags. I have been looking for a pattern and have not found any. I am also looking on how to make one with all finished seams. It looks s much nicer . We don'tt have a serger and a older machine so an ideas on this would be great. Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks from MN

Yes there is a free pattern in the tutorial section. Go to the search and type in potatoe bag, go half way down. You will see free potatoe pattern. good luck

Make sure to use only 100% cotton tater batting as these have been known to catch fire.

There is a special batting made specifically for these bags called Warm Tater that is all cotton and has no 'scrim' on it, which has been known to cause problems.

Where do you find that special tater warm batting? I have looked online and didn't find it. Maybe I am looking for the wrong thing?

The seams are finished when you turn the bag right side out. They will be inside the layers. You'll have 2 layers of fabric and a layer of batting. Sew around leaving an opening, turn right side out and slip stitch the opening closed. It should say that on the pattern.
