    Default Clamshell quilt----anyone?

    Thinking of maybe doing as a winter project...have the GO die...have looked thru Pinterest for ideas, tutes..just a thought....what say you?

    It is a pretty pattern. I think I might hand piece it rather then machine.

    i have the GO die, too. I love the pattern, but it looks like a bear t machine piece... so it's on the back burner for now

    Have you seen the pattern in Keepsake Quilting? It is called"Drift Kit". Can get a kit or a pattern. Kit is CF00210. Pattern is CF00211. Looks to me like the Go die would be a real help! I did make one years ago with small clam shells. It took ages but still a favorite. I used an old sheet behind the shells in order to keep them straight.

    I would be too nervous doing a clam shell....seems very difficult to me.

    I would probably hand pieces it as well, less stressful for me! I've seen a couple of tutorials lately that use half circles instead of clamshells but they look the same. Pretty sure they were raw edge appliqued. I'll see if I can dig them up. Looks pretty easy.

    If the clam shell is cut with a Go Die it is a dream to sew. All the curved piecing cut with the Go or Studio dies in fact are a pleasure to sew. Best investment I ever made.
