I have used it and been pleased as a lot of my quilting friends use it. I like Aurifil for piecing because it is a thinner thread but Connecting Threads for quilting. You can't beat the price. I like their material as well. Good company to order from.

I love it. I do mainly charity quilting and the fact that it is a little thicker than the pricey thread is not a factor. I will use my expensive stuff on precision piecing. I have a very old HQ16 and The Essential Pro causes not a single problem for me.

I had a bad spool that shredded terribly. The rest seem fine so far but I have read to only use them with a larger eye needle to cut down on lint and shredding. I use a #14 needle.

You'll just have to try it and see. As with any thread you ask about (or batting or iron, yada-yada-yada), there are going to be those who love it and those who don't. Connecting Threads thread has been talked about a lot on the board - just search Connecting Threads thread. You'll probably see at least a dozen conversations about it. Me, I like it. Great for piecing, great for quilting.

If you use Connecting Threads cotton thread 50 wt 3 ply in top and bobbin you need the 90/14 needle. Also if you use it with a vintage machine you have less lent. The threading is outside the machine and more thread guides for the thread to go through.

I use their thread for FMQ and I love them. They are a little linty but I just clean my machine more often when using it. I love all the colors and my favorite is the verigated .

I use their thread for piecing and on the LA. I can't remember the name for the LA thread off the top of my head but I use it all the time.

I use it all the time I just got 6 spools in just little bit back I really like I have never had any problems with it or them.

I recently bought one of their sets of colors and have really enjoyed using it. I do my piecing with Superior's Masterpiece but I've loved having the CT colors for fmq. I make mostly smaller quilts on my dsm so can't say for anything else.

Oh, and if you're ordering from Connecting Threads already, look at their scissors. They have these little purple-handled snips that are awesome and really inexpensive. I buy a pair almost every time I order from them because I love them so much. I keep a pair in my car, in my purse, in my desk, in my nightstand, 3-4 pairs scattered in the sewing room... Wonderful, sharp, pointy little scissors.
