    Default Curve Master

Do many of you own and use the curve master and how is it beneficial? I enjoy making Judy Niemeyer designed quilts and most of them contain a lot of curves so I thought a curve master might be a good investment. Comments appreciated....

I used it a lot when making a few Drunkard's Path quilts. It makes sewing curves a lot easier for me. It took practice to get the hang of it but it was worth it.

I use it and it works beautifully. It does take a bit of practice but your curves are absolutely dead on. When I first tried it, my problem was I was holding the top fabric up to high. There are videos to see how it works. I highly recommend this as an essential in a quilter's studio.

Have it. Used it for piecing Drunkard Path blocks but found that I got the same results using my regular 1/4" foot. I don't think it's necessary for piecing curved blocks but you may find out it does. Ask your friends if they have the foot so you can try it out before you buy one for yourself.

I know that many folks have this foot and like it, however, I would try some samples without it first. This is the method I use, just use my regular 1/4 foot:

I thought about getting that foot... but decided that I didn't need it. I love doing curve quilts. I got REALLY good at it this year while making my Urban Nine Patch. Sew Kind of Wonderful has some great videos on doing curved piecing. It really helped me a lot

I purchased the Curve Master foot and it really works like a dream. I had only seen a demo, but when I sat down and tried it at home, it was as easy as the demo.

I'm certainly a 'gadget girl' and when I saw this being demonstrated at Houston a couple of years ago I had to buy it. Whilst I don't do a lot of curved piecing at the moment it works like a dream and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
