I was in Hancock Fabrics the other day and found the cutest dachshund fabric with about 6 coordinating fabrics to go with it. So, I (of course!) bought some of each to make quilted pieced tote bags for my mom and sister (and me!) for Christmas. It is in the M'Lissa line in browns, pinks, peaches. Very cute! Then I also found a piece in black and white that I absolutely adore. We're a huge dachshund family, love the stubborn buggers, and I do some rescue also. So I hope they don't see the fabric at the store before they get the totes but the chances of that are pretty slim since we're all sewers. Oh well, if they buy any, they can use it for something else(like a present for me!). :)

Awww... sounds really cute. :) We have a miniature long haired doxie that is about 14. :) Just love him to pieces. :) He was a rescue from my brother that didn't want him after his ex left :(

Could you show us pictures of the fabric please? Would love to see it :) Thank you :)

Sounds so cute! I've never had a dachshund but I love them.
For years I babysat for a family who had one and when the kids were asleep the doxie sat on my lap the whole night as I watched TV, talked on the phone, etc. He would lick me to death every time I moved! I sure loved that doggy! :D
PS. But I didn't love him barking to death everytime someone came in the driveway hahaha

My DD and I love her fabrics. She owns Doxies and you can tell she is in love with them. We have a long haired miniature and he is a wonderful little dog. I want some of her fabrics to make DGD a throw and maybe a little quilt for him.

I'll post fabric pics tomorrow as I need to get offline now--but maybe I should post pics of the furkids instead! :)

I searched like crazy on Hancock's site and can't find that fabric - but I really, really want it. My long-haired red dachshund has just been diagnosed with prostate cancer and I'd like to make something //anything// in memory of him. (But hopefully we've got some time left with him.) Please post the link or any hint of how to find it
