Default Design suggestions would be much appreciated.

Truthfully I am disappointed. One of my favorite fall experiences is watching the beautiful leaves falling in showers from the trees against a bright blue sky. Well this is what I came up with, more like marching in lock step. Can anyone make any suggestions?

BEAUTIFUL fall leaves!!! You could offset your rows vertically, or perhaps add some "blank" blocks between some of the leaf blocks so they will look more scattered.

I might look at offsetting the blocks so they aren't lined up in rows - maybe add in a few solid blue blocks here and there so that it looks like the leaves are more random - love the leaves!

That's funny - I think Wendy and I were telepathically communicating. Her reply popped up exactly when mine did

Do you have extra of the blue fabric? How about if you make the blocks wonky, and stick a plain blue block in every so often?

I also think maybe you need some different sized leaves, so some look like they're closer and some look farther away.

You did nice work on your blocks -- however I see where you are coming from. How about making another block -- maybe a log cabin and using it with your leaf blocks. You could make the leaf blocks look like they are swirling down from one corner to another varying using 1 2 or 3 leaf blocks. Don't know if that makes sense at all!

I don't quite understand what the poster is wanting, but I, too, thought offsetting the rows would make them more interesting. Or perhaps, setting them on point

Maybe setting them in some blocks like these?

Look at Bonnie Hunter's Dancing 9 Patch. I think you could sash your leaves in the same way and get a bit more movement to the quilt.

changing the line up of the blocks was my idea, too. wonky is good. or you can add blue 'sashing' to two sides and change the rotation of the various blocks. your leaves are beautiful
