Well, there is enough for a backing on a quilt - a wall hanging and probably a throw - and you can go from there!:)

I would use it on the back of a quilt and use it wrong side up as often as possible if it does not appeal to you on the front It is certainly enough fabric for a could sized border and you could focus on all the other color in the fabric in the quilt
I have made many a quilt with the border as my reason for color use in the body of the quilt Happy sewing

Beautiful material, so make a quilt. You will need to buy extra colors to match. 8 yards, so you have enough to use the same material for backing or you could make place mats with matching napkings. Table runner/bed runner. Left overs could be used to help make a scrappy quilt.

Left overs could be used to help make a scrappy quilt. Scraps could also make pot holders, pin cushions, pillow cases for your bed or a gift.

Forgot to mention, your husband is a keeper. My husband always buys me things he really wants, like trampoline, tools and etc. At least he has good taste in material and you.

Oh how I love it when the DH buys me fabric. Mine only got me two yards, but 8. How about a OBW quilt. Or a kaleidescope one with it. Stack n whack.

There's a book called Nine Patch Pizzazz that you could use. Has great quilts that use large blocks of fabric. It's by C&T Publishing.

Also with 8 yards you could use it as a backing on a quilt.

Wallhanging, quilt with matcing pillow cases? Here is a site that PWinston recommended when I asked the QB for ideas on a quilt. Scroll about halfway down for the ones that use large blocks or focus fabrics. Sidelights,Arcadia,Center stage, a lot of really pretty ones http://www.justitdist.com/mountainpeek.php Good luck  I used Spotlight II as my inspration. Here is my sisters' iris quilt. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-157066-1.htm
