I know what you mean. I took an applique class recently and one of the things on our list of supplies was a glue stick. I am brand new to quilting and couldn't imagine WHAT we needed a glue stick for. They didn't ask up to bring paper that I imagined we would need to possible glue patterns together....LOL....Low and behold, I was floored when I found out we were glueing the stems to our fabric before stitching to keep them in place....so cool! ! ! I would have never imagined doing that......and it worked!

I don't think our foremothers had too many secrets, not like today. I would hope there weren't too many quilt police back then. These didn't have the products, gizmos, gadgets and such that we have today so I would think any imperfections were considered 'ok' and not hidden in one way or another. You think?

Yup, you bet I love this board! I have so many bookmarks and notes to me in a notebook that I could write a book. Keep 'em coming. I'll never write that book, but I love rereadingmy tips to me.

My DH had me get my own e-mail address because of all my sewing/quilting stuff but then I had to get myself a laptop because of reading all my e-mails took up time on HIS conputer. (I think things worked out real well) love my laptop & QB :-)

This board is great - Even with it's "dirty little secrets". That's the best part!
