Easiest thing to add borders to a QAYG quilt. The most you might have to undo is the binding. Or if it's the Fun&Done way (backing to the front), not even. ;-)

I have made several for charity. Taught a class in our RV Park on the Kaye Woods method. Rather than doing the sewing myself I had a student do it so the lesson would be remembered. When its done its done except for the binding.

The title is "Flannel Fun! When You're Done, You're Done!" It was published by Pressing Matters Ink. I got it on clearance in a quilt shop in Albuquerque so it may be out of print.

I have had three experiences with quilt as you go and love it. Perhaps that's because I am inherently lazy.

I tried it with strips on top and bottom and hand-sewing the the batting together, then the final seam on the bottom. I didn't enjoy it. My next quilt could be done in large 8in wide strip sections from top to bottom. I think I'm going to try using a full size backing, and quilting one strip by cutting away some of the batting, and rolling up the extra backing. Then once that strip is done, re-adding enough batting to do the next strip, and add that strip to the top. Then I'll still have a nice solid back, and no extra hand-sewing. I'll see how that goes.
