    Default Dragon Fly Quilt Ideas

I was asked to make my husbands niece in law a comfort quilt with dragon flies. Her mom passed and she says when she sees a dragon fly it reminds her of her mom. Any one done a dragon fly quilt? She wants darker colors with purple being a main color. I was thinking dark blues, greens and purple. Any ideas on patterns and colors is greatly appreciated.

Nancy Lee Chong at Pacific Rim Quilt Co has a 2-fabric applique called Dragonflies in Flight that is lovely and simple to make. It makes a wall hanging but you could add blocks or borders to make it larger. http://www.prqc.com/2faq.htm

Both of these are possibilities. I think I can draw something then digitize for applique in my software.

Dance of the Dragonflies is another. I have this pattern but haven't tried it yet but I also love dragonflies so when I saw it I had to have it. :-)

    I love this one: http://www.randomthreadz.com/dragonflies-pattern.html
I've bought the fabrics for it ( boldoverbatiks.com had a kit with beautiful batiks!) a while back, but haven't made it yet.
