When you are finished with your design, CLICK SAVE AS. You want to EXPORT the design , choose the bottom option.
Then a save as place will pop up and you save it where you want.

button...and it worked...BUT I definitely did NOT do that before when it worked. No big deal tho...just happy to be able to do more than one line of wording. NOW...my problem....which I didn't have before...is that I cannot get it to save to .jef file. I have been able before to put any file into another freebie program....Wilcom....and able to convert it to a .jef file and was able to print it. I have been trying for an hour now and I am saving it on my CF card as a .jef but my Janome 300 isn't reading the file....like it's not there at all.

Any help? sure would appreciate it and I DO appreciate all the help I have gotten already. This board is awesome. I do wish the ME could have their own space tho. Thanks! Pat[/QUOTE]

Your ERA will save it as a JEF file, if you set up the program correctly. You won't have to go somewhere else to convert it. I save mine in a special embroidery folder. You'll see 2 files when you export. Don't need the EOX file, Ill delete that one. Hope that helps.

Thanks for all of the websites mentioned today. I am weeding through them one by one. I want to master this on my machine.

I started out with a Brothers PE-700II (i think that is the number). Love love loved it. A nice machine for a beginner. I now am using my Ruby Designer / sewing-embroidery machine by Viking. I am loving it!

I have a brother innovis 1500 and use it to make pictures to frame and also quilt blocks. Last year I started to make two identical twin size quilts for my grandaughters, I have made most of the blocks but they all need to have flowers appliqued (sp) on to them, here is the question, would I be able to use the applique templates to digitise the outlines so I can do the applique on my machine, I have 96 to do for each quilt and honestly cant face doing them. If it can be done has anyone any idea how I would go about it. The only digitising software I have in Stitch Era. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you everyone for names of sites to visit. I am in the process of looking into them this evening and certainly will be like a sponge, lol, in absorbing the information. In need of all the help I can get, but I am determined to conquer this little beastie!!

I just recently bought a Brother PE770,,,,,,totally love it! I literally have to put it in my sewing room downstairs from time to time or I would have it running 24/7! I upgraded from a Bernette Deco 650---need to sell it as it is just taking up needed room. I have quite a collection of embroidery patterns, just over 20,000 within the month I have owned the machine. I have been stitching like crazy, doing shirts for friends, quilt labels and tons of things!

I'm working on some patches and I'm having a problem getting my fonts extra small but still be able to read them. I'm using a Quatro2 machine by Brother. Anybody out there have some tips and tricks for "micro printing" Thanks, Mona

Being a newbie, which would be better for me to use for now, Iron on or Self Adhesive Tear Away stabilizer?

Where do most purchase your stabilizer, in store or online? If online, where?

    TIA

The different stabilizers are used for different weights of fabric. It would depend on what fabric you are putting the design on and how "stable" you need it. I have a collection of the various kinds of stabilizers. I have purchased some online and at Joann Fabrics.

I bet you can do some research online and find out which would be best. Good luck. You'll love machine embroidery.
