Either of those is fine, but don't buy one that is all white. I don't know what the brand is, but my friend bought a huge white one for it's size, and is disappointed that it isn't self healing. She says it dulls the cutting blades.

I’ve been using my (white) one from Joanne’s for qr years. Although it’s not self healing it has held up quite well, and much more affordable. It hasn’t dulled my blades any faster than my green self healing mats. I tend to use the whole mat so I guess the wear has been evenly distributed. My lqs ladies told me they had to replace theirs every 5 years or so because they cut yards - same line on mat over & over all day, every day. They turn it around every so often to change that line but it still wears out with time. My lines are fading, but still can be seen & used. I’ve worn out self healing mats faster with much less use.

I have one of the translucent white ones. When cutting, I often have skips and think my blade has gotten dulled but If I take the same rotary cutter and blade over to my small Olfa mat it cuts through same fabric no problem. If I could find one large enough for my cutting table I’d go for an Olfa. Never tried a Martelli, so don’t know how they compare to Olfa.

I made the mistake to buy the all white one from Joann's, when I bought my table. It wasn't but a few weeks that it seemed my new rotary wouldn't cut, it took me a while to figure out it was the mat not my cutter. What a waste of money that was.
