I just made a pillow top - I'll post a picture later - and I'm ready to make a backing for it. I'm not sure what kind of fabric to use, though. Regular quilting cotton seems too light, but canvas seems too heavy. Any thoughts?

And we have no clue what the top is like!!!!!

I'm going to assume that you did a quilted top ... in those cases, what I have done is used yardage to match or made a pieced back and quilted it, to give it some substance. You can bind it at the edge, as you would a quilt. Or put them together with a ruffle between the edges.

it's a quilted top, log cabin with batiks. Quilting the back is a good idea, but I think I'm going to go for a plain solid. Too many other projects await!
