    Default Fat quarter pattern

Lookig for fast, easy pattern, aren't we all, using fat quarters. Plan to use pattern to make interesting backings for charity quilts.

I think there are a whole bunch of Fig Tree Quilts patterns that are intended for fat quarters. Also, at Fat Quarter Shop, you can search specifically for fat quarter patterns in their patterns section.

Since you're looking to simply make the backs more interesting, you could just randomly sew the FQ's together. Remember not to create long, vertical seams that cause problems for a longarmer - those roll up and create uneven tension in the quilt. Also, don't ask the longarmer to center the back or line up seams/blocks. That's nearly impossible to do and creates more work for them.

I've made several "ugly quilts" using this video. Start at 4 minutes in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RePQz1eN5Ko&t=363s

Cool link, aashley333! Thanks! (I don't find that ugly.)

This is a free pattern from Fat Quarter Shop that I just finished. It uses fat eights but has you cut them into 7 1/2" x 20" pieces, sew 4 together and make flip cut, sew together and you have a finished block. I made the throw size and it came together in an afternoon. I'm going to be cutting a lot of my scraps up to this size. https://www.fatquartershop.com/fat-e...t-quarter-shop.
