    Default Fat Sixteenths?

Out of curiosity, where do you buy fat sixteenths? I have a pattern for a bed runner and it calls for 27 fat sixteenths. I want to make it for my 3 year old niece for Christmas and can't find fat sixteenths. I've found fat eighths and lots of charm packs, layer cakes, and jelly rolls. I guess I could just buy the fat eights but wondered if anyone knew of an online shop that actually sold the sixteenths.

    Thanks.

I have purchases kits w/sweet sixteens (the fabric pieces where about 9" x 11") and I think that is the same. However, I don't know of anyone that sells fabric in that small an amount.

Maribeth is right, 1/16 is about 9x11" (or 9/10, thereabouts, depending on WOF). If you google "sweet sixteen fabric" you will find several suppliers.

They used to be available as collections but have rather been overtaken by layer cakes which are of course 10" square. you may be able to use layer cake pieces depending ont he patterns requirements.

Would it be the same measurement if you just cut a fat eighth in half? (a little early for me to do math....)

Keepsake has 10" squares of various fabrics. That would fit the bill.

Never heard of fat sixteenths, but at a shop in Indiana I visited last summer, they had "piggies" a 9" by 14" piece of fabric. I bought a couple of them.

No, I think you would cut a fat quarter into 4 squares. (half both ways!)

Yes. A fat eighth is about 9x22. Cut in half and you get 9x11.
