How fun for you. I'll bet you wind up not eating a lot of lunches for LQS trips.

Oh how fun!!! I took my grandson on a 3 1/2hr. whale watch cruise this summer; and wasn't til we were almost back to the harbor when something in the conversation came up to make me aware that we had been sitting with a quilter during the whole ride. She and I spent the last 10 minutes of the cruise just chatting up a storm lol. I told her of 4 great quiltshops in the area; and her hubby told me to stop telling her because she would want to stop at all of them. I never got her name....sad, we could have stayed in touch. We certainly had alot in common; even both have had our right knees replaced, and we both had our grandsons with us.

That's great! Sounds like you will have loads of fun together!
A couple of years ago I was stuck in the hospital for over a week and I kept noticing that one of my nurses wore a "I Love Quilting" lanyard around her neck. I asked about it and we got to talking, the next day she brought me her album full of pics she had taken at various quilt shows and a couple of quilt magazines! I ran into her recently at the local quilt show.

How exciting having someone to talk to in person everyday about quilting and fabric, and getting to show off your projects and processes to someone who really cares.

I have found so many great people to talk to who are...quilters, former quilters, daughters and granddaughters of quilters, or want-a-be quilters. The craft is so exciting for so many people! that they want to talk patterns, and past quilt experiences. I LOVE IT!!!!!

I recently found a quilting friend on this board that only lives 4 blocks from me! We have become fast friends. Quilting has become even more fun now that I have someone that I can go shopping with!

How fun for you to find a new quilting buddy. I have found 2 in the same way..."did I overhear you..."
