Has anyone fmq on a horizon 7700? I just got one last month and have tried to fmq on it with fustrating results. My thread will break, the tension is not always right, it seems to skip a stitch some. I really don't know what is going on. I did fmq on my previous janome dc3018. I'm not great but I feel so fustrasted. I do have an appointment on Tuesday. Any suggestions appreciated.

I have no problems with my Horizon. I did not adjust the tension at all and had perfect stitches, no thread breakage or any other problems. I used the open toe free motion quilting foot and stitch D1S. Hope you get yours sorted as I think the Horizon quilts beautifully.

I used Gutterman and Mettler, both top and bottom, but I have some Bottom Line that I will try next time

I have recently been practicing on my Horizon. Everything is fine until I move the fabric toward me. The manual says not to pull the fabric toward the front. The stitch is very nice, I use the one recommended in the manual.

How can you fmq and not move the fabric toward you? All my setting are as in the manual.

I've FMQ on mine ok too. Some people use the single hole (I didn't), but that might make a difference.

The other thing I found, you need to make sure that the FMQ foot is adjusted so that it barely skims the surface of the quilt...if it's too high it will cause skipped stitches and thread breakages. There is a little screw at the top on the right that will raise and lower the foot. Try adjusting the foot so it's just high enough and see if that helps
