Default Found a bunch of Sulky rayon thread.

In my marathon cleanup I found about 20 spools of Sulky rayon thread. I have no idea why I bought it (long ago) and what it's for.
    Does anyone use it?
    Tia

I liked rayon threads for quilting Christmas quilts. someone went on and on about rayon threads being bad so i gave what i had away. Always regretted that! lovely, gold, red, greens, etc.

I did some research and read that it's strong thread but I wanted input into people who use it.

Rayon is actually a fairly weak thread, prone to breaking, and generally not heat-tolerant. It doesn't fare well when ironed. It is popular for machine embroidery due to the sheen, but definitely not for quilting.

Why Superior doesn't sell rayon thread

I don't know anything about rayon thread, but I've heard that it's beautiful but not strong, sorry I don't know where to tell you to find out.

Here is an article by Lori Kennedy. She is a great quilter. She used Sulky rayon thread for her quilting. I've read other use it too with lots of success. I've put it on my longarm and it did a great job. I had never heard otherwise. I have oodles of this thread and I was just using what I had. I have lots on large spools. https://lorikennedyquilts.com/lets-talk-about-threads/

Make a sandwich and try it out. See if FMQ causes breaks and also use a hot iron on the quilting.
