    Default Grunge layer cake

I just bought and received the Grunge Hits the Spot basicgrey layer cake from MSQC and it is so pretty, but I don't know what pattern to use. I don't want to loose any of it when cutting. I did go to Jordan's tutorial and she did a (I think it's called that) Three Layer Cake pattern. It really is pretty. Have any of you bought this layer cake and if so what pattern are you using? I just have the one package so would have to buy extra yardage which is fine. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome and picture of quilt if you have made one from this collection. Never have bought grunge fabric, but this is really pretty and such beautiful colors.

OMG; 70 views and not one reply. Kind of discouraging.

I'll reply. I've used alot of layer cakes. Recently I have really liked the Cake Mix recipes, it's very accurate and several use almost the entire 10" square. If it's beautiful colors, you can add a neutral and have a beautiful effect.

I recently did a quilt with a layer cake that I loved, Moda Modern Background Ink. I used this pattern:

I am very happy with it.

Just looked up the Grunge fabric line & it is really pretty. I have no idea for a pattern for you but whatever you decide on will be pretty. I don't think you can go wrong with "dots" in a quilt.
Here's a couple of ideas for you:

I think the double slice from Missouri* would look pretty, I love the Grunge lines and I use it almost exclusively in most of my quilts that need a solid. Don’t be discouraged by lack of responses, it’s just the nature of forums.

I really like grunge line, especially the polka dots. Have fun!

I've used the Grunge line quite a bit--love the colors and they read solid. But can you believe I've been quilting for a handful of years but have never purchased a layer cake.

The Illusion Quilt tutorial from MSQC would really show off that fabric!
