    Default Half Rectangles

What is the best way to make half rectangle units? If, with a specialty ruler which ruler is recommended? Thank you

AnglePlay is the gold standard for half rec triangles.

I know you can make them just like HSTs. Two rectangles, right sides together, sew on the diagonal. but you have to offset them a little so it looks funky as you are sewing the diagonal. here is a brief example

I slightly oversize my rectangles, and sew then as I would a square ( on the diagonal) and then use the Half-Rectangle Triangle (HRT) ruler set to square them up. Block-Loc is expensive, but your pieces are perfect and they can be used over and over. I never hesitate to use them when I can.

It's fast to paper piece the half rectangles to get perfect ones each time.

Jordan Fabrics did a nice tutorial with their Harlequin quilt pattern. I think you need to offset the rectangle.
