    I always use double thread so the quilt will last longer and the seams will not break form rough use via children or other reasons.

    I always use double thread. It comes from all the years I made clothing for my kids. Wanted my stitches to last through all of the washings. :-D

    I use single thread, but use quilting thread and it holds up fine.
