    Post HELP.. Brother 270D...

HELP… This one has the drop-in tread cartridge. When I attach the embroidery part, the needle automatically shifts as far to the left as possible. Have tried to reposition the needle but no luck. Is this normal? I can't seem to find the manual. It is soooo close to the metal plate, I'm afraid the needle will strike & break. Have recently done a few little things-it just doesn't sound quite normal….but embroiders fine.
    Any help would be wonderful….

I would go to YouTube and look for videos on this machine, and verify the needle position.

I have the same machine, just checked mine and the needle goes to the far left also. So this is normal. I've had my machine about 10 years, and it has made some of the most ungodly sounds known to man!!! There are times I think Mawluvthat it is surely going to die any minute, but she just keeps on going! FYI keep the bobbin and under it cleaned regularly !
