I am wanting to make a quilt for my MIL for Christmas. Her favorite color is orange and she likes zebra strip....any ideas on what would be a good pattern. I am wanting to use different fat quarters of orange and maybe zebra and other black and whites. Thanks!

How about adding some tiger stripes to the zebra stripes, and maybe animal footprints? (So it doesn't look too halloweenish?)

That is what I am afraid of - it will look hallowinish. Maybe I will do a tossed nine patch with multi orange and put a zebra print border? any thoughts on that???

There is a pattern called "Bodacious" that would lend itself to what you are describing.

I once saw a white and orange pineapple block quilt. It was amazing.

And since those are her choices, I doubt she's looking for something subdued.

You could use many FQ's of oranges and B&W's.

To make it more interesting (like that combo needs it ;-)), going light to dark (with both colors) would be very cool.

Those zebra stripes could really vibrate when cut up.
