I purchased a quilt in a day pattern that had a free 4 1/2 in. on point ruler with it for the leaves. I have never used specialty rulers as I'm pretty new to quilting, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to use it.
I have tried goggling how to use one and have come up empty. Does anyone have a link or care to explain? Thanks in advance.

Yes and I figured out that it is just a fussycut that you line the point up under the lines.

You might want to see if a PBS station in your location has her weekly show called Quilt in a Day. I have learned a lot from her shows. Good luck and enjoy making your quilt.
