I just purchased a bottle of Retayne and I want to wash some batik fat quarters. I plan to hand stitch some hexies for a Grandmother's Flower Garden wall hanging. The directions say to wash for 20 minutes in HOT water, then any subsequent washes should be in cool water.
My question is: can I wash multiple colours in the same batch or should I do it in several washes? What about those 'colour catchers' that are available? Has anyone used them?
Thanks for the help, I just know that one of my quilting friends on the board will have the answer.

When I hand dye I use the Retayne in the final rinse. I then use color catchers when I do any regular washing of the finished quilt. Hope this helps. I would test each fabric to see if they are going to bleed. If you need to do the retayne rinse I would do them separately.
