It was just your own way of telling yourself "I need a break". We are obtuse sometimes.

I had one of those days Saturday. Doing a mystery quilt, picked up the wrong color fabric. Then cut it 1 inch too short. BREAK TIME!

I had to smile at your story. I seem to do that frequently.

You've discovered the secret. When things start going badly, it's time to walk away. Your brain will reset and you'll be off and getting everything correct once again when you go back to it. Aren't our brains a fantastic thing? If I go to bed with a difficult puzzle that I couldn't finish, I'll get up in the morning and my brain will have figured it all out. I'll be able to finish it a short order.

There are just those days I need to just stop and do something else.If I don't I get so frustrated I start doing everything wrong.
