I would say go for it as well, but find that it is more of a "do what I say, not as I do" because I have fabric (Oriental in nature) that I just cannot bring myself to cut yet. I purchased one set in Lancaster about 5 years (gasp) ago and then several yards in Hawaii a year and a half ago. the pattern you have chosen is perfect for what you have.....so....GO FOR IT!

The first cut is the hardest. Make the quilt and share each step with us so we can oh and ah with you.

I totally agree!! I have some of the bottom left fabric if you do a mis-step lol I have some embroidered blocks that my mother did and she has been gone since 1999. I want to make quilts for my daughters but I want them to do her blocks justice so I just havent done anything with them - I really need to but like you I am very hesitant lol I dont have a pattern like you do - GO FOR IT!!!

I have the same problem and often wait until another fabric comes along that will make a fabulous quilt block.

I think the fabric and pattern are perfect for each other - go for it, I'm sure i will be beautiful, as it has largeer squares/blocks where your fabric will shine.

I have never had that problem. I've bought fabric that I loved and it may take me a while before I found the pattern that would do it justice but I'll enjoy it so much more show-cased in a quilt or wall hanging. It looks like you have a great pattern to use it with. Make yourself a Christmas present but getting this top done so that you can enjoy the fabric more often than you do now.
